Some days I have a lot to say. But there is only one blog and all of my posts are compiled in chronological order. To sort through and read only the posts you are most interested in, you can select from the three topics described below.
4N6Fact Fridays, fun forensic facts from the news. You know you want to read them! The weekly posts will appear on this blog under category 4N6, and also on tumblr.
Film2Fiction: Of all the things I pretend to know a lot about, writing is one topic where I have plenty of boots on the ground experience and lots to share. To view my blogs on writing select F2F.
And finally, book love. I review books I have read and loved and think you should read them, too. Click on book<3 Archives

It’s 108 degrees outside. I sit inside, under cover of intense air conditioning… watching heat lines rise from the concrete a few feet away, hearing the not-so-distant drums of global warming thudding in my sub-conscious, and I think GREEN (but in a good way). Not that long ago “being green” meant inexperienced and now it means “environmentally savvy.” My advice, stay cool… think GREEN… watch Living With Ed… buy a Prius… and for Godssakes get out of the SUN! That thing will KILL you. As for the picture above — you’ll never guess: This fountain forms the entrance to the … Continue reading
Well, we read each others stuff… find and gently point out mistakes… share information… and when our friends get published we BUY their books! We also send words of encouragement, like these, which I received from a writer-friend of mine today. (I will link to his blog as soon as he has one! hinthint). “I got vision and the rest of the world wears bifocals.” Butch Cassidy From Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Written by: William Goldman My friend sent this quote as an affirmation that he believes the subject matter of my book is a NOVEL idea… let’s … Continue reading

When you are a freelance writer (for hire) the assignments come to you. Maybe you have to go out and troll for them a little, dangle a pitch or two here and there. But once you’re in — as long as you continue to deliver quality work, on time and on budget — the work flows to you. You feel the most bereft of time and sleep. Deadlines are always too short, Rewrites are always too long and the most expendable item in the equation is your SLEEP. So it goes. However, the day you decide you are a freelance … Continue reading

“C.S.I. has become a national obsession,”Jane PauleyThe Jane Pauley ShowNovember 4, 2004 C.S.I. graces the airwaves three times a week, with C.S.I., C.S. I. Miami and C.S.I. NY. Leslie Moonves, President and CEO of CBS calls it “the most successful television franchise in history.” And there’s more: at least a dozen fictional and reality-based series about criminal investigation through various methods of forensic science can be found in the prime time schedules of major networks and on cable channels like Court TV. Would it surprise you to learn that this proliferation pales when compared to C.S.I. classes in our nations … Continue reading

Here’s the real truth: If there was anything I could do that came close to the feeling of what it’s like to accept a writing assignment (sometimes cash up front, sometimes on delivery, sadly sometimes never). And then to sit down and break that assignment into the required steps (on deadline) with the purpose that these steps will ultimately be distilled down into a unique pattern of WORDS, (plagerism not allowed) formed, married together and printed out in a particular way, to create an end product… (in my case novel, cartoon episode, comic book, movie, review… whatever). IF there was … Continue reading
